When susceptible Margaret politely lets door-to-door missionary Melissa into her home, her rock-solid Catholic faith starts to wobble—much to the horror of her hot-headed sibling, Mary. But who’s the blasphemer, and who’s the true believer? Before long, the God-fearing sisters have ambushed their earnest 'guest' with the aid of their unsuspecting parish priest, setting the stage for a divine smackdown of biblical proportions.
Featuring: Dayle Ballantine, Teri Muller, Becky Ruccio, and Bill Stambaugh
Run Time: The Savannah Disputation runs approximately 90 minutes with no intermission.
"Faith is a complicated business—and sometimes, as SAVANNAH DISPUTATION shows, a funny business, too.” —Boston Globe.
“This script is VERY funny; a comedy rooted in situation and character …blissfully entertaining. But it never shies from important subjects …This play is filled with fascinating and funny theological and philosophical debate.” —NY Theatre.
“SAVANNAH knows what we’re anticipating, and defies it at every turn, challenging believers with sly accuracy…The boundaries separating Christianity and Catholicism may be unremarkable to the casual observer, but to those in either camp, they’re as distinctive and divisive as ethnicity.” —Time Out New York.
THE SAVANNAH DISPUTATION is presented by special arrangement with Broadway Licensing, LLC, servicing the Dramatists Play Service collection. www.dramatists.com
